Damon Atwood was Hollywood’s golden boy. Having won an Oscar at the tender age of thirteen, he had the life many could only dream about. But his success came at a price, and after a short but fruitful film career, he chose to live a life of obscurity on a remote Scottish island. Almost a decade later he’s finally ready to make his return, starting with a lead role in a musical on London’s West End.

As a choreographer’s assistant, Rose Taylor has always faded into the background. She watches shows come to life from the side lines, but has never craved the attention of stardom. When rumours begin circulating of Damon’s involvement in her latest gig, she doesn’t predict how she will be thrust into the limelight, nor how the mysterious and strangely introverted man will need her to teach him how to be a star again.

Rose knows that show crushes don’t last. Actors fall for each other during the intensity of a production, often losing themselves in their roles. These kinds of affairs burn bright and then they fade. The question is, should Rose let herself shine with Damon, or guard her heart from being broken after the final curtain call?

I love LH Cosway’s writing, her style is so unique and perfectly her.

Showmance is no different to the rest. We meet Rose and Damon and instantly fall in love with them. Rose is epically awesome. She is a dance choreographer for the Moulin Rouge Broadway. Damon is cast as Christian (Trust me he blows Ewan out the water)  But Damon hasn’t acted in years, He’s been living a normal life away from the limelight in Skye (I feel I should drive up and hunt him down) He has his reasons for keeping out the limelight and also coming back.

Showmance_Teaser

Not to go in to too much detail as this is a story you all need to discover.

Rose is heartbroken after breaking up with yet another actor, She swears off them, enter Damon 😉 There are so many bumps along the way.  When reading I entered the Moulin Rouge, I felt I was right there beside them like the little voyeur I am. There is one scene where they sing Roxanne, the lead up and come down from it had me on the edge of my seat gripping my kindle for dear life. I had Goosebumps, I swear I could hear Damon’s voice singing it in my head.

SM_Teaser2

The journey Rose and Damon go on is damn right perfect. There are bumps in the roads those of course being of the boob and bulge variety.

I can’t recommend this book enough, If you haven’t read any LH Cosway then this would be a great start point, then you’ll have to work your way through her back catalogue which is just as amazing. I sneak read this story at work, can you see me hiding in the toilets 😀

Enrapture: Noah Series by Pierce Smith

30067370.jpgOn their first Halloween eve, together things didn’t quite go as planned for two very passionate and horny men. Noah waits anxiously and impatiently for Ethan to get home from work to start their night of sexy fun. Noah discovers a man is watching him through the window across the street. When Ethan phones to let him know he’s caught in traffic, the fun starts with phone sex. Shortly after, a masked Ethan arrives for the Halloween night of fun. But a knock at the door later has left Noah wondering who he just made love to.
They find themselves dealing with a few twists in this debut book of an erotic M/M series. It’s one night tale with twist and turns, with lust wrapped in suspicion. A hot read will be having you beg for more.

This is a joint effort as we both kindly received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review!

I really don’t know what to say about this story! I was confused as to what was going on-of course the book blurb pretty much sets the scene for the idea, which would entice the reader to find out, however, for me,there were a few issues that I struggled with and it did make me question whether I would continue reading-the story itself didn’t seem to flow as well as some other’s that I have read, the lack of format(i.e no defining chapter’s) makes me wonder if there was an editor involved the process? While I have enjoyed reading many in the M/M genre,I feel that this tale-yes is an erotic vision…extremely for the most part-lacks in substance (but perhaps that is my own preference due to previous books that I have read.)

That being said,I did persevere with it till the ‘cliffhanger’ ending, and in all honesty I will interested to see where the story goes from that!

(RHR-Shaz)

Enrapture is the first part of a short extremely erotic m/m romance which is set on the one night of the year where darkness is celebrated and magic and mystery are embraced. There is no build up to the story, it simply starts in the middle of a scene and it is up to the reader to determine what is actually going on and whether this is a paranormal romance or not remains to be seen. There is more I would like to say on this but I don’t want to give too much away.

The story itself is rather confusing. A deliberate attempt by the Author to mislead the reader?? Well this remains to be seen. For instance, for the most part we are unsure whether or not Noah is talking to himself or communicating with a voice inside his head and although I enjoyed the initial concept of the story I found myself rereading parts to figure out what exactly was going on. I think this is due to the limited proof reading and level of editing involved and unfortunately it does encroach on the enjoyment of the story as I was unable to work past some of the misleading sentence structure.

I am aware this is the Author’s first published work, however and that English is possibly not his first language and I applause him for delving straight into the thick of it. It was a bold move which I hope pays off for him in the future as he gains more experience in the world of self-publishing.

Again, like Vicki said, it will be interesting to see what happens in Part Two of the Enrapture Series and find out where Pierce plans to take the story.

A Perfect Chance by Becca Lee

28047473.jpg

Chasing a ghost is easy. It’s finding yourself that’s the real challenge.

Drowning in darkness, Mace struggles to move on from a past filled with sorrow. Anger is a much easier emotion to handle, one he readily embraces. Burying himself in his work and spending his nights with his brotherhood of bikers, Mace is determined to spend his life playing by his own rules.

Plagued by her own guilt, Lena desires nothing more than to break free from her past and to start afresh. But fear and anxiety threaten to keep her hostage, leaving her frustrated and stifled. The last thing she expects is another brooding man to be her possible way out.

While Lena is determined to fight for her future outside of the Deadwood MC, Mace is resolute to avoid any hope of happiness. Together, they have to decide what they’re willing to risk for the perfect chance.

Perfect #3 – Can be read as a standalone

*I kindly received an Arc in exchange for an honest review*

4 Rockette Stars

A Perfect Chance is a fast paced sexy MC story following Mace and Lena. I understand that these characters have been introduced in earlier books in the series and when I get a chance of my own, I’ll be going back to read the rest as I really enjoyed Becca’s writing.

I have always been a fan of motorcycle stories and once you find a series you love it is difficult not to compare it to others but this book holds it’s own and the characters are very relatable.

After Mace is entrusted with Lena’s protection. He has no choice but to spend time with the haunted woman he thought was off limits. Lena is unsurprisingly suffering from a severe case of PTSD following a traumatic event in her past and as such she has been leading a very sheltered existence. Mace has his own demons to deal with but cant help to be drawn to her and they eventually give in to their attraction for one another. Unfortunately neither of them seem to be able to move forward with their pasts hanging over them.

But we all know the past doesn’t stay where it belongs and it’s not long before Mace is confronted with his while fighting to protect the woman he loves. This story moves at a good pace and I was very frustrated when I had to put it down.

If you like hot alpha males and need a fix of some bad ass bikers you won’t be disappointed in picking up this book and although it can be read as a standalone I would suggest starting at the beginning of the series.

All in all a very enjoyable read I would recommend to others who enjoy this genre.

Falling Completely (Starling Falls #1) by Aidan Willows (4*)

28528911.jpg

MALIYA
Falling in love is not for me. I don’t do relationships, they never end well.
I don’t believe in fate, soul mates or happy, fairy tale endings. I’m definitely not a sweet little princess in search of her prince.
I have a plan to follow and falling in love is not part of that plan.
Nothing is going to change my mind.
Not even a domineering, gorgeous, blue-eyed firefighter who seems to be everywhere I go.

CALEB

The moment I saw her, I knew.
I knew the funny, curvy, raven haired beauty was supposed to be mine.
She may not agree with me at the moment, but I’m a patient man.
I’m not afraid to play dirty to get what I want.
And I want Maliya Abbott.

When her sister decides to move from London, across the Atlantic Ocean to Starling Falls to run an estranged relative’s bakery, Maliya Abbott is pretty sure her sister has lost her ever-loving mind.

Not wanting to be separated from the only family she has left, Maliya goes with her, a move that was only supposed to last a year. After all, training to be a doctor at the same University her parents did had always been her goal.
What she hadn’t planned on, was meeting Caleb Jameson. A man who is adamant they are destined to be together. That would be great, if she actually believed in any of that crap.

She also hadn’t planned on his insane, lovable, meddling family trying to derail her plans.

Maliya is a smart girl. She knows what she wants and what she doesn’t want. She definitely wants to go to Oxford University and train to become a doctor. She definitely does NOT want anything to do with Caleb Jameson.

Now, if only she could get her stupid heart to listen to her head.

*I was given a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review*

For a debut story,it had elements that I really enjoyed, and I got into it fairly quickly.I feel, though that I need to point out that, had I been trailing Amazon looking for a new read,I probably would’ve passed by this tale on the account of the book cover-for me,it does nothing for the actual story, when you read the book blurb-However,on reading the story itself(which I have done a couple of times) I got invested in the character’s-both leads ‘inner thoughts’ were often amusing, resulting in a few laugh out loud moments. There are quite a few side character’s introduced which might be slightly confusing, and I can only assume that as the series continues, they will come into their own.

I’m not going to go into great detail as it would spoil it for those who’ve not read it,but,it does flow quite well, Dual POV,HOT when it needs to be,funny,a good Epilogue, and I would continue reading more from this series in the future.

Porn Money & Wannabe Mummy (The Debt & the Doormat Book 3) by Laura Barnard (5*)

29499837.jpg

What is it about turning thirty that sends rational women into a tailspin?
Suddenly going from having all the time in the world, to cringing at the ticking of her biological clock, Poppy is drowning under the strain of trying to get pregnant.

With a dad in the throes of a mid-life crisis, a crazy mother-in-law and time racing towards Lilly’s wedding, will she be able to cope with it all…and give Ryan the baby they so desperately want?

Finally able to inherit her dad’s porn money, Jazz can’t wait to be rich! She can buy a house in Chelsea, go out partying with her old mates and start living how she deserves.

But with Ollie, Jemima and Meryl each clawing at their own little piece of her happiness, will she have to leave behind those closest to her in exchange for it?

The real question is, can Poppy and Jazz rescue their own lives before everything gets ruined, or will their own stubbornness destroy the lives they’ve created.

“Let’s go back to the madness”

Once again we are back into the crazy, hilarious, mayhem that is Poppy and Jazz’s world, with this latest creation from the very funny Laura Barnard! Although it could easily be read as a standalone,I’d recommend reading the previous two (The Debt & The Doormat/ The Baby & The Bride) to get the full appreciation of these two character’s and those around them!

I don’t want to go into that much detail as to the plot(would give way too much away) but I will say there are topics which are, in real-life serious conditions, but here,in their world, you will find yourself as I did, laughing out loud throughout from beginning to the end-and that is all due to the writing which draws you in,and the character’s you care about!

We essentially have two stories running alongside one another with the dual POV’s of Poppy and Jazz, which adds to the enjoyment of the book as a whole-the situations they find themselves in and how they each deal with what’s thrown at them,is funny and in certain parts emotional, with a very pleasing ending (Woo Hoo)

Falling for Matt by James Lee Hard (5*)

29776254.jpg
After finding his partner in bed with another man, Robert sees his relationship of fifteen years come to a painful end. A distinguished college professor, his whole life had been dedicated to his career and partner, but after his betrayal, Robert spends one year trying to mend his broken heart, too deep in his sadness to even continue his work in the field of nanorobotics.
Everything starts to change when he meets Matt, a twenty-six year old gardener, who at first sight has nothing in common with him. He’s the poster-boy for the masculine: tall, rugged and handsome, mixed with something else, a dash of sweetness and unpretentiousness that leaves Robert intrigued and wanting to know more. At the same time, Robert fears the stigma of their age difference and what people will say about him dating someone younger.
Nevertheless, they find themselves gravitating towards each other, navigating the entangled mess of each other’s lives. Robert’s fear is still alive, though: will he be able to mend his heart, let himself be happy again and trust another man?

WARNING: This book contains explicit scenes of consensual sex between men as well as some graphic language. It is intended for a mature, adult audience

‘He was 39,all alone and didn’t know if he had the strength to rebuild his life’
‘The cute ‘kid’ in his back-yard who made him feel alive for the first time in months’

I was first introduced to this author by a friend, and have read all their previous books, while I enjoyed the stories, some I felt were rushed, with endings left with loose ends-with the exception of his “Rift Trilogy” which, for me,was his best work….that is until reading THIS story!

Falling for Matt: A Second Chance at Love is a story which I quickly got drawn into, and that is all down to the quality of the writing, the character’s and the plot, the intimate scenes are tastefully written (the first being in at about 50% into the book) and are done in such a way as not to be the main focus (they are a very HOT added bonus of course!)

I don’t want to give all that much away of the story, the description gives the reader all you need to get started, but what I will say is that I loved both male leads,Robert and Matt, the side character’s of Harry and Brian, although of course there are -Ted (Robert’s cheating Ex) and Joseph (the teacher out to cause Robert issues)…can’t really say what I thought of them(when you read you will have a good idea!) The story really flows nicely, sweet, hot where it needs to be,some angst added yet an Epilogue that ends happily!

Congratulations James Lee Hard…you have created a beautiful story Thank You

Timing by Ashley John (5*)

29756459.jpg

When it comes to love, is timing everything?

Tom doesn’t have time for a relationship – not now that his fingers are practically touching the promotion he’s spent years chasing. His weekdays are consumed by desperately fighting for his editor’s attention and his weekends are wasted alone with meals for one and his cat for company.

All Cole has ever wanted is to work on the farm he was raised on, but money is tighter than ever and he is forced to get a job in a bar to keep a roof over him and his auntie’s heads. Time is running out for the farm but he spends his days dreaming about a future he thinks he’ll never have.

After an unexpected collision at the village train station, their lives suddenly become connected when Cole clumsily spills his coffee on Tom and it sets into motion something greater. Tom is wary of listening to his heart and Cole is distracted by the threat of losing everything. Each possesses something the other desperately needs, but can they ignore bad timing to listen to their hearts?

“There were so many things he wanted to say but he forced himself not to say them.He knew it was too soon to be feeling the way he did but he didn’t care.He had never felt so strongly about another man before and that’s how he knew his feelings were real” (Cole)

“Cole looked at him as though he was the most beautiful man in the world and Tom wasn’t going to question that.He felt worthy because Cole made him feel special.” (Tom)

This is another book by this author, which I quickly got into, and enjoyed very much.I don’t want to go into great detail as it would spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read it yet,but I absolutely loved it and again it is all down to the quality of the writing, the main character’s (Tom and Cole) and side character’s who are as important in the flow of the story, often adding hilarious moments (Ricky) as with a previous book (‘Shelter’-which is cleverly given a nod within this) the intimate scenes are tastefully done and are not the main detail. The story flows well, there is a wee bit of an angst moment, but all ends with a HEA and a great Epilogue.

Congratulations on another amazing story Ashley John…Thank You

Curvy- Alexa Riley

5 (million)* Rockette Rating.

HOLY SHIT ON A ROCK HARD STICK!

This is hot.

I’ve recently become a huge fan of this Duo since reading coach.

The first time Flynn Long sees her, she’s lying on a bed in lingerie. The picture is soft, just like her curves, and instantly he’s obsessed.

Cali Carr is at the end of her full-figure modelling career when she’s hired for a new campaign. But when the owner of the company steps out of the shadows and starts calling the shots, a job is the last thing it feels like.

Love at first sight isn’t supposed to be real. One touch isn’t supposed to ignite so much. A single picture isn’t supposed to drive a man insane. But luckily for us it’s happening in Curvy!

Warning: Over the top isn’t strong enough for what this short story is. It’s velvety sweetness coated in insta-love cheese, and it’s waiting for you to take a bite.

I love the over the top fairy-tale. Every girl wants something like this, A man to just throw down and say she is mine. Even if the men we have are amazingly awesome, we can still imagine, right!?

Calli and Flynne are my fave couple so far, I think I relate more to this story being a bigger lady.

I read this on a train journey to Edinburgh and wished my day of shopping away so I could be back on the train to finish reading.

Calli is a plus sized model; Flynne falls in insta-lust with her looking at her portfolio, trying to salvage a failing plus size lingerie investment. He wants her, he gets her. He sets up a bedroom photo shoot. Lets just say this was one of my favourite scenes to read, I laughed so much. There was a lot of grunting from Flynne in the corner of the room and there may have been some items broken too.

If you love a short hot-as-hell read and haven’t read any Alexa Riley yet, What are you waiting for?

We all know I’m a Part-time stalker of Jane’s, so it’s probably not a huge surprise I loved this book.

I’ve never taken an interest in Dancers but the way Jane told Ash and Laney’s story has ruined me for the rest. This is much darker than Jane’s other work; it touches on some very touchy subjects and details some hard scenes for some to read.  (The darker areas are, human trafficking and forced oral)

DANCE. Guns.
MUSIC. Bullets.
RHYTHM. Pain.

Music in my head, dance in my body, the rhythm of my heart.

How far can you fall in just one month? How quickly can the human spirit be broken? Where does evil hide in plain sight?

Ash wants to dance. Needs it. To leave behind a life of expectation and duty, to set his soul free.
But life is never that simple. Every step is a journey on a new road.

For every action, there is a reaction.

Every choice has a consequence.

And when you meet the wrong person, all bets are off.

Laney tolerates her limitations, pushing quietly at boundaries. But when Ash crashes into her world through rage and violence, it sets off a chain reaction that neither of them expected

Laney and Ash’s story is an intriguing one. They meet in Vegas (know you know how interesting it’s going to be!) It’s a rather awkward first meeting in a club. Laney has a wheelchair she sometimes has to use and Ash doesn’t notice it and wants a dance.

Ash comes to America under the assumption he will be dancing on a proper Vegas stage but ends up on the wrong side of the Bratva. I won’t go in to too much detail as it will give some of the story away.  Lets just say Ash catches the eye of the 2nd in command and it isn’t pretty.

Laney saves Ash from a very bad situation and basically takes him home with her. Things begin to develop. Laney has a boyfriend that Ash calls ‘prick’ I laughed every time.

I found Ash grated on my nerves a few times but his quick temper and moodiness at the slightest things but I think a lot of it was to do with what he had been through and things getting lost in translation.

There is a certain scene in the theatre which took my breath away and my heart stopped for a few seconds.

Plus its duel POV which redeemed Ash a little in my eyes as we could hear his thoughts rather than go off his actions.

*I kindly received an Arc in exchange for an honest review*

In Falling Ashes, we finally meet Aurelia’s sister Mena, who has been held captive by the evil Iva for the last fifty years. Mena has been broken to the point where she no longer feels the pain inflicted on her body. But her mind is strong and her spirit stronger still, if only she could overcome the guilt that plagues her life and heal the scars left on her soul from her heartbreaking past.

While recuperating, she meets handsome Guardian to the King, Asher Crane. He has his own list of problems, the most important being the imminent demise of his beloved King and Queen, in which the law states Ash must die too. With so little time left in this world, the last thing Ash needs is to fall in love with the electrifyingly beautiful Aegis but being a Wraith means he doesn’t have a choice in the fact his heart has claimed her nor can the man in him fight the pull of the feisty yet fragile woman he has come to know.

He wants to take her away from it all, let her heal in peace and after a life in hiding let Mena find out who she really is but with a death sentence hanging over them, unease between the Wraiths and the Phoenixes growing day by day and Mena in possession of a power that many would kill to obtain, can these two ever find peace? And does Mena still have it within her to save the people she loves as well as herself?

I really loved this second instalment in the Ashes to Ashes series. Scattered Ashes was the first paranormal book I had picked up in a few years and I was instantly drawn in by Annie’s imagination and the strength of her characters, particularly the female leads who are not the damsels in distress we have come to expect in this genre but are stronger and sassier even through adversity.

Mena gives Aurelia a run for her money in the badass stakes, surprising I know, but she’s hilariously strong willed and entertaining and I loved every moment spent inside her head. And Asher, well I just got myself a new book boyfriend, sexy Asher has it all, wit, good looks, sensitivity and well, lets just say he knows how to treat a lady in the bedroom or any other room or surface he cares to show his appreciation for the woman he adores.

All of the characters we got to know in Scattered Ashes are also back and I am really looking forward to the next instalment and although I can’t wait to find out what happens to Nicola (and hopefully understand her a bit more) I am praying that Annie is going to write a story for Evan and West because I just know it’s going to be a shit-hot action packed adventure that’s most likely going to rip my heart out…no pressure there Annie 🙂 Oh and just so you know…I’m claiming West, just putting that out there now so there’s no arguments down the line… Okay Ladies

If you haven’t read paranormal before or would like to try something fresh and contemporary to this genre I strongly recommend this series.
