Falling for Matt by James Lee Hard (5*)

29776254.jpg
After finding his partner in bed with another man, Robert sees his relationship of fifteen years come to a painful end. A distinguished college professor, his whole life had been dedicated to his career and partner, but after his betrayal, Robert spends one year trying to mend his broken heart, too deep in his sadness to even continue his work in the field of nanorobotics.
Everything starts to change when he meets Matt, a twenty-six year old gardener, who at first sight has nothing in common with him. He’s the poster-boy for the masculine: tall, rugged and handsome, mixed with something else, a dash of sweetness and unpretentiousness that leaves Robert intrigued and wanting to know more. At the same time, Robert fears the stigma of their age difference and what people will say about him dating someone younger.
Nevertheless, they find themselves gravitating towards each other, navigating the entangled mess of each other’s lives. Robert’s fear is still alive, though: will he be able to mend his heart, let himself be happy again and trust another man?

WARNING: This book contains explicit scenes of consensual sex between men as well as some graphic language. It is intended for a mature, adult audience

‘He was 39,all alone and didn’t know if he had the strength to rebuild his life’
‘The cute ‘kid’ in his back-yard who made him feel alive for the first time in months’

I was first introduced to this author by a friend, and have read all their previous books, while I enjoyed the stories, some I felt were rushed, with endings left with loose ends-with the exception of his “Rift Trilogy” which, for me,was his best work….that is until reading THIS story!

Falling for Matt: A Second Chance at Love is a story which I quickly got drawn into, and that is all down to the quality of the writing, the character’s and the plot, the intimate scenes are tastefully written (the first being in at about 50% into the book) and are done in such a way as not to be the main focus (they are a very HOT added bonus of course!)

I don’t want to give all that much away of the story, the description gives the reader all you need to get started, but what I will say is that I loved both male leads,Robert and Matt, the side character’s of Harry and Brian, although of course there are -Ted (Robert’s cheating Ex) and Joseph (the teacher out to cause Robert issues)…can’t really say what I thought of them(when you read you will have a good idea!) The story really flows nicely, sweet, hot where it needs to be,some angst added yet an Epilogue that ends happily!

Congratulations James Lee Hard…you have created a beautiful story Thank You

Timing by Ashley John (5*)

When it comes to love, is timing everything?

Tom doesn’t have time for a relationship – not now that his fingers are practically touching the promotion he’s spent years chasing. His weekdays are consumed by desperately fighting for his editor’s attention and his weekends are wasted alone with meals for one and his cat for company.

All Cole has ever wanted is to work on the farm he was raised on, but money is tighter than ever and he is forced to get a job in a bar to keep a roof over him and his auntie’s heads. Time is running out for the farm but he spends his days dreaming about a future he thinks he’ll never have.

After an unexpected collision at the village train station, their lives suddenly become connected when Cole clumsily spills his coffee on Tom and it sets into motion something greater. Tom is wary of listening to his heart and Cole is distracted by the threat of losing everything. Each possesses something the other desperately needs, but can they ignore bad timing to listen to their hearts?

“There were so many things he wanted to say but he forced himself not to say them.He knew it was too soon to be feeling the way he did but he didn’t care.He had never felt so strongly about another man before and that’s how he knew his feelings were real” (Cole)

“Cole looked at him as though he was the most beautiful man in the world and Tom wasn’t going to question that.He felt worthy because Cole made him feel special.” (Tom)

This is another book by this author, which I quickly got into, and enjoyed very much.I don’t want to go into great detail as it would spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read it yet,but I absolutely loved it and again it is all down to the quality of the writing, the main character’s (Tom and Cole) and side character’s who are as important in the flow of the story, often adding hilarious moments (Ricky) as with a previous book (‘Shelter’-which is cleverly given a nod within this) the intimate scenes are tastefully done and are not the main detail. The story flows well, there is a wee bit of an angst moment, but all ends with a HEA and a great Epilogue.

Congratulations on another amazing story Ashley John…Thank You

Curvy- Alexa Riley

5 (million)* Rockette Rating.

HOLY SHIT ON A ROCK HARD STICK!

This is hot.

I’ve recently become a huge fan of this Duo since reading coach.

The first time Flynn Long sees her, she’s lying on a bed in lingerie. The picture is soft, just like her curves, and instantly he’s obsessed.

Cali Carr is at the end of her full-figure modelling career when she’s hired for a new campaign. But when the owner of the company steps out of the shadows and starts calling the shots, a job is the last thing it feels like.

Love at first sight isn’t supposed to be real. One touch isn’t supposed to ignite so much. A single picture isn’t supposed to drive a man insane. But luckily for us it’s happening in Curvy!

Warning: Over the top isn’t strong enough for what this short story is. It’s velvety sweetness coated in insta-love cheese, and it’s waiting for you to take a bite.

I love the over the top fairy-tale. Every girl wants something like this, A man to just throw down and say she is mine. Even if the men we have are amazingly awesome, we can still imagine, right!?

Calli and Flynne are my fave couple so far, I think I relate more to this story being a bigger lady.

I read this on a train journey to Edinburgh and wished my day of shopping away so I could be back on the train to finish reading.

Calli is a plus sized model; Flynne falls in insta-lust with her looking at her portfolio, trying to salvage a failing plus size lingerie investment. He wants her, he gets her. He sets up a bedroom photo shoot. Lets just say this was one of my favourite scenes to read, I laughed so much. There was a lot of grunting from Flynne in the corner of the room and there may have been some items broken too.

If you love a short hot-as-hell read and haven’t read any Alexa Riley yet, What are you waiting for?

We all know I’m a Part-time stalker of Jane’s, so it’s probably not a huge surprise I loved this book.

I’ve never taken an interest in Dancers but the way Jane told Ash and Laney’s story has ruined me for the rest. This is much darker than Jane’s other work; it touches on some very touchy subjects and details some hard scenes for some to read.  (The darker areas are, human trafficking and forced oral)

DANCE. Guns.
MUSIC. Bullets.
RHYTHM. Pain.

Music in my head, dance in my body, the rhythm of my heart.

How far can you fall in just one month? How quickly can the human spirit be broken? Where does evil hide in plain sight?

Ash wants to dance. Needs it. To leave behind a life of expectation and duty, to set his soul free.
But life is never that simple. Every step is a journey on a new road.

For every action, there is a reaction.

Every choice has a consequence.

And when you meet the wrong person, all bets are off.

Laney tolerates her limitations, pushing quietly at boundaries. But when Ash crashes into her world through rage and violence, it sets off a chain reaction that neither of them expected

Laney and Ash’s story is an intriguing one. They meet in Vegas (know you know how interesting it’s going to be!) It’s a rather awkward first meeting in a club. Laney has a wheelchair she sometimes has to use and Ash doesn’t notice it and wants a dance.

Ash comes to America under the assumption he will be dancing on a proper Vegas stage but ends up on the wrong side of the Bratva. I won’t go in to too much detail as it will give some of the story away.  Lets just say Ash catches the eye of the 2nd in command and it isn’t pretty.

Laney saves Ash from a very bad situation and basically takes him home with her. Things begin to develop. Laney has a boyfriend that Ash calls ‘prick’ I laughed every time.

I found Ash grated on my nerves a few times but his quick temper and moodiness at the slightest things but I think a lot of it was to do with what he had been through and things getting lost in translation.

There is a certain scene in the theatre which took my breath away and my heart stopped for a few seconds.

Plus its duel POV which redeemed Ash a little in my eyes as we could hear his thoughts rather than go off his actions.

*I kindly received an Arc in exchange for an honest review*

In Falling Ashes, we finally meet Aurelia’s sister Mena, who has been held captive by the evil Iva for the last fifty years. Mena has been broken to the point where she no longer feels the pain inflicted on her body. But her mind is strong and her spirit stronger still, if only she could overcome the guilt that plagues her life and heal the scars left on her soul from her heartbreaking past.

While recuperating, she meets handsome Guardian to the King, Asher Crane. He has his own list of problems, the most important being the imminent demise of his beloved King and Queen, in which the law states Ash must die too. With so little time left in this world, the last thing Ash needs is to fall in love with the electrifyingly beautiful Aegis but being a Wraith means he doesn’t have a choice in the fact his heart has claimed her nor can the man in him fight the pull of the feisty yet fragile woman he has come to know.

He wants to take her away from it all, let her heal in peace and after a life in hiding let Mena find out who she really is but with a death sentence hanging over them, unease between the Wraiths and the Phoenixes growing day by day and Mena in possession of a power that many would kill to obtain, can these two ever find peace? And does Mena still have it within her to save the people she loves as well as herself?

I really loved this second instalment in the Ashes to Ashes series. Scattered Ashes was the first paranormal book I had picked up in a few years and I was instantly drawn in by Annie’s imagination and the strength of her characters, particularly the female leads who are not the damsels in distress we have come to expect in this genre but are stronger and sassier even through adversity.

Mena gives Aurelia a run for her money in the badass stakes, surprising I know, but she’s hilariously strong willed and entertaining and I loved every moment spent inside her head. And Asher, well I just got myself a new book boyfriend, sexy Asher has it all, wit, good looks, sensitivity and well, lets just say he knows how to treat a lady in the bedroom or any other room or surface he cares to show his appreciation for the woman he adores.

All of the characters we got to know in Scattered Ashes are also back and I am really looking forward to the next instalment and although I can’t wait to find out what happens to Nicola (and hopefully understand her a bit more) I am praying that Annie is going to write a story for Evan and West because I just know it’s going to be a shit-hot action packed adventure that’s most likely going to rip my heart out…no pressure there Annie 🙂 Oh and just so you know…I’m claiming West, just putting that out there now so there’s no arguments down the line… Okay Ladies

If you haven’t read paranormal before or would like to try something fresh and contemporary to this genre I strongly recommend this series.

He was my older brother’s best friend.

He was never supposed to be mine.

I thought we would get it out of our system and move on.

One of us did.

One of us left.

Now he’s back, looking at me like he wants to devour me. And all those feelings I’d turned into anger are brewing into something else, something that terrifies me.

He broke my heart last time.

This time he’ll obliterate it.

This is a standalone.

EXCERPT

“Look at me, Elle,” he says, using the deliciously low demanding voice that once made my toes curl and my eyes roll back, and I have no choice but to tilt my head to give him my attention. “Forget those lame guys you’re dating.

Let me take you out.”

My heart, if possible, spikes further in my chest, overriding all warning of the impending chaos that’s sure to come. I try turning my attention to the poster hanging beside me, but the kissing couple makes me look back at him and the deep green eyes that are burning into mine. My stomach does a flip-flop, the way it always does when he looks at me that way and I try to take my hands back because these feelings are too scary for me to deal with right now, but he holds them tighter, bringing them up to his mouth and kissing the tip of my ring finger. Why did he pick that finger to kiss? I pull harder and he finally lets my hand drop.

“I can’t,” I say, my voice coming out hoarse.

A myriad of emotions flash in his eyes before they settle on determination and I’m forced to take a step back, away from his scent, away from his warmth, and into the cold closet behind me.

        “Why not?”

I sigh, finally looking away, back down to his naked feet. “I just can’t.” He knows why not. He shouldn’t ask me that question. “What’s Vic doing, anyway?”

His body moves into mine so quickly that I don’t have time to react to his large hands clutching my arms or his face dropping until we’re nose to nose. I just stare, wide eyed, waiting for his lips to fall over mine, but they don’t. He just looks at me, breathes on me, lets me breathe on him, and he groans. And that fucking groan travels from his body into mine and crawls into the core of me, draping over every fiber inside of me.

“What do you want, Oliver?” I whisper against his lips. “What do you want from me? You want to kiss me? You want to fuck me? You want to come into my life like the hurricane that you are and tear down everything I’ve rebuilt and disappear just as quickly?”

His lips brush slightly against mine, just a breath of a touch as he stands there, crowding me like he’s about to devour me. But he won’t. He never goes in for the kill. He just lures me, casts me, reels me in and pulls away. His hands drop and his face leaves mine with the same quickness and I feel a pang deep inside me that I wish wasn’t there.

“I’m sorry,” he says quietly, shaking his head in a movement that makes his hair sway back and forth. His eyes are soft on mine now and I can almost hear his thoughts: I should have never kissed her. I should have never—

My brows rise in surprise at the apology, though. There are so many things I can say to him, but the sudden defeated look in his eyes keeps my mouth shut. Finally, I exhale and push off the wall, standing in front of him, with enough distance between us that we can’t reach out and touch each other.

“It’s okay just… don’t do it again. The kiss the other day was a mistake…” I stop talking and walk past him, putting my bra away and sorting through my underwear drawer like it has some sort of hidden treasure or something. This time when I feel him come up behind me, I drop my head and exhale. He really needs to stop sneaking up behind me.

“Oli—“ I start and gasp when I feel his lips on the back of my neck, soft and warm. My heart thunders and my hands begin to shake inside the drawer so I close my eyes and focus on breathing. He drops another kiss right beside that spot. I never knew the back of my neck was so sensitive. The feeling sends a ripple of sensation down my arms and through my body.

“It wasn’t a mistake,” he says in a husky whisper that makes my flesh break out in goose bumps. “You’ve never been a mistake. You want me to tell your brother that I want to take you out? Is that what it would take?”

Lane POV

I tiptoed into the living room to get a couple of cookies from the kitchen. I noticed that Ash had left the drapes open and it gave me a chance to study his beautiful face, younger and softer in sleep.

But he wasn’t asleep, and I froze.

He was stretched out on the couch, his bare chest almost luminous in the glow of the street lamps.

One hand rested on his chest, but the other…

The thin sheet was pushed down to his thighs and he was stroking himself. His long fingers that had massaged me so thoroughly earlier in the evening were firmly grasping his hard dick and working it up and down, his thumb sweeping over the wide head. His eyes were closed, his mouth slightly open, and his breaths were quick and shallow.

I knew I should turn around and go, leaving him alone in this very private moment, not watching like some creepy voyeur. But I couldn’t. I was mesmerized by the sight of him pleasuring himself, his hand moving faster, his firm chest rising and falling rapidly.

He muttered something in his own language, and I could tell by the tightness in his face that he was close. And God, if it wasn’t the hottest thing I’d ever seen.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to write. Perhaps it was growing up in a village well known for its mystery and folklore, which sparked my imagination as a child.

I enjoy writing in several different genres, and I’ve just published my first romcom, ‘Dazzled’.

All my books have a little me in them, and I’m inspired by the personal stories of those around me. It’s often from a simple discussion overheard in the train (‘Exposure’), in a café, or in the street, where ideas for characters or scenes come to me.

I fell in love with both Sam (‘The New Samurai’) and the eponymous Sebastian in ‘The Education of Sebastian’ and the sequel ‘The Education of Caroline’, and missed them desperately once I’d finished their stories. I love writing dialogue and always try to include touches of humour in the most poignant stories.

Whether you like adult romance novels, new or young adult writing, thrillers, or fantasy, I hope you’ll enjoy the journey through my stories.

Meet Luke Crawley in Blake Austin’s debut novel of loss, redemption, and ever-enduring love releasing on February 24th 2016

Luke Cawley is a broken man. After his wife’s tragic death, he lost everything that mattered in the world. Now, his life is filled with hard days, harder nights, and a steady stream of alcohol and the wrong kind of women. Nothing helps.

Until the letters arrive on Luke’s doorstep.

Nine envelopes. Nine messages. Nine chances to find his way back.

Rae Goode is looking for the real thing. After fighting her way out of a string of bad relationships, she’s ready for something different–something true.

She meets Luke while piecing her life together, and right away she can tell that he’s different. Drawn together by fate and the desire to heal, Rae and Luke discover new ways to mend their broken hearts–one letter at a time.

Excerpt

As soon as the word left my mouth, Rae’s face opened up and she was smiling over at me and it was like I was falling in towards her. When she was happy, I got vertigo. All those happy brain chemicals just took over and I was lost in bliss.

“Get out of my rescue, Luke Cawley,” she said.

“Will do,” I replied, scooping up King’s leash and opening the door again. But before we stepped out, Rae’s voice came after me.

“Hey Luke, you want to hook up sometime?” she asked. I turned around, probably looked startled. Sometimes I’m smooth, sometimes I’m not. “I mean, I could help you with King. At the dog park or something. You get a dog tired enough, he won’t rip up the house.”

She smiled. Clearly this was a professional courtesy she was extending, right? But I still couldn’t help feeling like it might do me and King both some good to see Rae again.

“I uh, lost your number,” I said. Sounded a lot nicer than ‘I threw it away while I was cleaning my house.’ I took out my phone. “I’ll just put it into my phone this time. Rae, right? What’s your last name?” I made a new contact.

“Goode,” she said.

I’d remember that. I didn’t have the best memory, but I remember what’s important. I decided I couldn’t let it be a sign, though. It was just a last name. Totally wasn’t a sign. I’m too grown up to believe in things like that.

I tapped in her number, texted her so she had mine, then I reached down, pet King on the head once more, and left the shelter with my dog in tow, feeling pretty good after all was said and done.image02.jpg

Soulless: Lawless Part 2, King Series Book 4 by T. M. Frazier (5*)

28020254.jpg

Release Date: 23 February 2016

The finale to Bear and Thia’s epic love story

It is necessary to first read Lawless to fully enjoy Soulless.

*I kindly received an Arc in exchange for an honest review*

Frazier does it again in the epic finale to Bear and Thia’s story. The woman left us with a hell of a cliffhanger in Lawless (Book One) and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in and find out what she had in store for the star-crossed lovers this time around.

I don’t want to give too much of the story away because there are so many twists and turns along the way that should be experienced first hand. Just know that Chop is more evil and sadistic than you could ever imagine, King and Ray as loyal as you could hope for and Bear and Ti’s love for each other stronger than ever before.

‘Bear was as beautiful as he was hard. He was as complex as he was simple. He was both the storm and the calm. The fear and the solace. The rage and the peace. My life and my love.’

“Maybe I felt like keeping you out from behind bars and in my sight where I could protect you was a little more f**king important than my raging undying motherf**king overwhelming need to be with you.”

You will both ugly cry and laugh out loud. Your heart will melt along with your underwear and you will be left with the best kind of book hangover because the ending is just… gah!!!!
There is also an introduction of a new character who I absolutely loved and I really hope that all those hints in there were the beginning of another spin off series.

1-click people, you won’t regret it.
Have to go now.
I need to do another happy dance around the living room one more time 🙂

The Other Man by D Breeze

dbreeze

The Other Man- D Breeze

I was intrigued by the blurb of this book as soon as I read it; I knew I needed to have it in my life. Little did I know it would flip my little world inside out.  I read this book in the space of less than 24hrs.

Sex is not ‘routine’ any more.

There are sex shops decorating the high-street, free porn all over the internet and lets not even get started on the new BDSM phenomenon. So when things get a little ‘stale’ in the bedroom, what would you do?

Carly made a suggestion; a suggestion I wanted nothing to do with at first, but she was my wife and I’d have done anything to make her happy. I went along with her plan, even though I really didn’t want to. It actually worked, for a while. Until something changed.

Then I wasn’t doing it for her anymore.

Instead, it was all about secret liaisons, stolen moments and the thrill of getting caught. My life changed overnight and there was nothing I could do to prevent it. Lust is an unstoppable emotion when it takes hold.

Rules are broken.

Mistakes are made.

Lives are destroyed. Be careful what you wish for, because sometimes, that wish can come true. Blake Thomas was her wish…

Until he became mine.

I have only read one ménage book and that was Travis by Nicole Edwards. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this book blew my freaking mind, I needed an ice bucket for pretty much every sex scene, my heart thumped, I sympathised with Blake so much when Zach came along.

I’m not going to go into too much detail as it would give a lot away. D Breeze has just become a staple in my author list. She’s set the bar very high for future books ire ad in this genre. I may also have gone on a one click spree of other m/m books.

Seeing Blake struggle with what was going on in his life, really hit home with me. Soulmates is something I believe and I believe I am lucky enough to have found mine. But to think that maybe I wasn’t his soulmate, How would I feel? Would I ever be able to move on? To be there along with Blake thinking he has found his soulmate in Carlie then BOOM Zach comes along. Blake doesn’t know what’s hit him and he struggles to deal with all his conflicting emotions. You can’t help but to go along on this emotional journey with him. There are ups and downs and even a few curveballs thrown in for good measure.

I think what I loved the most was, This could happen to anyone, there wasn’t a fantasy thrown in here, your neighbour, your teacher, Boss, this could happen and I loved the reality of that. It wasn’t always pretty. Everything screamed real life to me.

I finished this book two weeks ago and I’m still hungover from it, still fresh in my mind. that to me is a sign of a fucking fantastic book!

This does end in a cliff hanger but, god, it’s a good one, but don’t despair Book two, The Only Man is out 15th March (THANK THE WRITING GOD’S!!!)
