I scan the ocean, expecting it to turn to blood, but it simply crashes to the shore.
I turn to the house and take a step, then stop abruptly, a shadow flickering by the house. A shiver runs down my spine. There it is again. Another shadow. Someone is there. ‘Jesse Gunn is a thorn in my side,or should I say a thorn in my heart?’~(Lilah)

This is another well written sport’s themed story, (which I think are my favorite’s from Jacob) that grabs your attention from Prologue to End,and again it was a privilege to read it in advance(a couple of times actually)… I LOVED IT!

We begin with Lilah,(22) who is about to start working for her Family’s business (World Class Wrestling) and on her first day,meets Jesse (27) on her way in,with no idea of who he is,agrees to meet after work….heads in to meet with her dad-to get the rules/expectations of her job…and one of those important rules is a no dating co-worker’s policy…and of course,when she runs into Jesse later..discovers he’s an upcoming wrestler…and therefore off limits!!

Three years down the line,Jesse’s been relentless in his quest to have something more with Lilah, each time she refuses,he keeps on trying,she’s determined to keep things professional yet there is a mutual attraction,that slowly builds along with a fair amount of humor,before the inevitable hotness happens.I really enjoyed the back and forth between them both, that Jesse’s not just ‘Jesse Gunn’~the persona he gives his fans,he shows Lilah he’s more than that,which surprises her,and makes her face the fact she wants more. The side character’s that are introduced along the way~Jesse’s sister Ronnie,and his best friend Wyatt(possible future book for them??) also provide some humor to the story.
The attention to detail,especially with the action of the wrestling side,is enough to make you feel as though you are actually there,giving you an insight into what goes on behind the scenes, adding some slight drama/angst moments towards the end,will Jesse and Lilah be able to be together? You’ll have to read for yourself to find out!!

I was being cruel. I knew it. I was losing my mind being so close to her, and I couldn’t bring myself to stop.

I decided that if I was going to die here and now, in this courtyard, it would be worth it just to have witnessed this beautiful woman become wild in my arms.
I smiled against her mouth when her hand moved lower, and she crudely groped at my dick through the denim. I ground my hips against her hand, loving the feel of her fingers on me, my body instantly responding to her frantic touch. When she mewled her approval into my mouth, I was done for. I grabbed hold of her waist with the intention of turning us, until I was the one leading this fervent encounter we found ourselves in. She chose that moment to break the kiss and step back out of my reach.
A few feet away, she stood breathless and turned on to all hell. Her hair was in disarray, her cheeks were flushed, her eyes were burning into mine in a way I had yet to experience. I decided she had never looked more beautiful. She was like a fallen angel halfway to hell.
Me, I was confused as fuck, but in the best conceivable way.
She smirked at me and I narrowed my eyes.
“You know, Parker?” She smirked. “I’m barely touching you, and yet, you’re about to come.”
I swallowed hard, her intentions now clear.
“Well played, darlin’.” I grimaced, “Well played.”
She should leave now.
While we both wanted more.
I was left to contemplate the fact I’d just been owned by an angel, but she was no stronger than I was. Her body was humming in anticipation, the rise and fall of her chest making her breasts move in the most delightful of ways. Her eyes were pulling with desire, growing heavier by the second, as she fought for control of her senses.
I could barely hold my ground.
But I had to, for both our sakes.

As with her debut book,Silhouette,I had the privilege of being a BETA for this story,and SOLACE will always have a special place in my heart,as the character of James ‘Big’Parker,being a topic of discussion ever since his appearance in book 1,I’ve claimed #BigIsMine (which is acknowledged by SE herself I might add)…what to say without giving much away…well
Honestly,with how this story progressed from start to finish,I am yet again blown away and extremely proud of what she had achieved, the beginning giving a connection to events of the previous book,yet it is easily read as a STANDALONE as there is enough to recap without a total re-telling.Told in mostly DUAL POV,The chemistry between both leads is obvious,we get heat,humor,new characters introduced along side established ones from before.There is also suspense,action,moments that I found myself going OMG-I didn’t see that coming,and an emotional side to both ‘Big’ and Nyah again that I didn’t expect,but it all rolls into an amazing read.

I have not went into any great detail as to all that happens,as it would spoil it and the book blurb gives enough to hook you into their story,for those who have read the previous,you will fully appreciate this follow on.

One of our own has done it again-Congratulations S E (Shaz) a fabulous continuation,and I look forward to the next adventure with Kerr’s turn!

‘Your brother has started a war he can’t win’

Following on from Taking Avery,this is just as DARK,TWISTED,DISTURBING,EMOTIONAL,as expected …yet another total MINDF*** that is told in multiple POV’s,and even although it was a while ago on reading the first book,I found it easy to be sucked back into their MC world.Not for the faint heart,some of the scenes are hard to take,but if you’ve read anything by these author’s before-you’ll be prepared! As to everything that happens-well I’m not going into any detail as it would be major spoilers,and it would be an advantage to have read book 1,but I will say
I felt we got two story-lines in which the search for Rhainnon ran alongside the aftermath of what happened with Avery-yet all is connected,with secrets from the past coming to light,shocking WTF moments,and an ending that leaves us wanting more (which I hope won’t be too long a wait)
Of course I LOVED IT!

Meet Author Ker Dukey

 

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bedtime stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active… I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could have improved the story if they took another direction so I thought it best that I tell my own.

My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made of light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.

Meet Author Ker Dukey

 

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bedtime stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active… I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could have improved the story if they took another direction so I thought it best that I tell my own.

My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made of light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
