Truth or Dare by Aimee McNeil (4*)

“Choose TRUTH and risk exposing your heart
choose DARE and risk exposing everything else…”

Sophie Rogers has left her demons in the past and finally has her life under control…
Three years after leaving high school, where she was endlessly tormented by the school’s golden couple, Sophie has her art degree nearly in hand. Juggling two jobs, she prides herself on her focus and determination to ensure her independence.
Until Ashton King saunters back into her life as a nude model for her art class…
Ashton and Lucinda had made it their mission to make Sophie’s life miserable from the moment she walked into their lives. But now, with Lucinda out of the picture and Sophie back in his sights, Ashton changes the rules of the game and takes it to a whole new level.
Sophie is thrown back into the turmoil she thought was long behind her…
Ashton’s body is made for sin, and his icy blue eyes scorch her with feelings too intense for a heart as scarred as Sophie’s to bear. Glimpses of another side of Ashton give her a flash of hope, but his deceptions run much deeper than she ever dreamed.
Truth or Dare…Which would you choose?

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

This is a new author to me so I went in blind with no expectations and was pleased to
find I was instantly drawn into the story. Sophie is brought face to face with her childhood nemesis whom she always harboured feelings for. I did feel for her early on in the story as the need to dislike the man is high but almost impossible to achieve. He is so very annoying and in her face but in the moments where he drops his guard it’s hard not to be drawn in my his magnetism.
The supporting characters are strong too with the possibility of readers wishing to hear their stories but I loved Ashton’s grandmother in particular and I had a tear in my eye a few times thinking of my own.
There are no real surprises in this book and the reader is under no illusions where the story is going to go or who is behind certain plot twists but altogether this really is a lovely read. The writing flows and although I wanted to shake Sophie a few times and tell her not to be so nice and slap Ashton and get him to stop with the games and tell her already!!!!, I really loved this story and stayed up to silly o clock finishing it. I would definitely read more from this author and would happily recommend this book to friends.
