Depravity (King’s University book 1) by Jacob Chance

Title: Depravity
Series: King’s University Series
Author: Jacob Chance
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 7, 2019
When I was asked to babysit for a single father, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Two months with Mr. tall, dark, and broody didn’t seem like a bad trade-off for the money he would pay me.

As the weeks go by, our attraction grows and I realize what a concerned and caring father he is. And he learns that not every woman is untrustworthy like his ex-wife.
We both agree to walk away from our fling when I leave for college at the end of summer.
And reluctantly, we do.

Until my first day of classes when he crashes back into my world.

“I’m Professor Decker. Welcome to King University.”

RHR RATING 4*/5
This is the first in a new series that will feature standalone stories written by Jacob Chance/Marley Valentine/and together as Remy Blake.

As the blurb gives enough away as to the concept,I won’t be going into great detail as to all that happens, that being said,it is more than the usual ‘student/teacher’ affair,Jacob’s created another story that I enjoyed, for the most part and was fully engaged with from start to finish.
Miles(33) is divorced with a toddler son (Joey-who is adorable) and needs a babysitter a few evenings a week while he teaches. Thanks to his sister Miranda’s suggestion-Sophie (19-almost 20) and an employee of her’s enter’s their lives for the summer job before starting King University.
There is a good mix of chemistry with a slow burn with their attraction gradually building until the inevitable happens between Miles and Sophie, and they are pretty hot an heavy and decide to have some fun together until the summer ends and school starts, and then the little twist of finding out that Miles is one of her Professor’s makes things awkward, but the attraction doesn’t go away from either one so the relationship continues, however another moment of drama/angst comes up towards the end and this part I didn’t really invest in to be honest, which has resulted in my rating.

As I said earlier I enjoyed this story, apart from drama towards the ending, although after it was dealt with,I did get back into it,on the whole it is well written,as there is also the introduction to the characters that will feature in the following two books in the series, and other’s who might be given future stories by Jacob (I’m merely guessing as such).

I will re-read this and am looking forward to seeing what is planned for the rest of the series
